New Passat............

I understand the new Passat saloon willl be available in NZ near the end of the year. Does anyone have any info on likely engine and transmission options, and pricing yet?

I was talking to the Whangare dealer yesterday about a replacement for the Pug he told me they will be available with the 1900 Tdi, can't remember if the 2.0Tdi with DSG will be available though.

What I want is the 3.2 4motion with DSG... for around the 80k mark.

Oh yes, and the other thing the dealer said, the new Passat Tdi has the Audi engine.

I actually couldn't contain my curiosity, so I rang EMD. The guy was reasonably open, and said there will be a 2.0 liter FSI, and a 3.2, plus a diesel. I didn't ask about tranny's, which was a mistake. He went on to say that pricing won't be set for some time.

The April WHEELS mag reviewed the all new Passat, and the Ozi's are getting the following..

2 ltr FSI 103kW
2 ltr TDi 125 kW
2 ltr Turbo FSI 147kW
3.2 V6 FSI 184kW 
all will be 6 speed autos

6 speed DGS are in desil and V6
