That sounds wicked, and something a bit different to the golfs, not that I have anything against the golf projects, as I have one.
Especially like the engine/tranmission details
If you need any spanner labours let me know I'd love to help out. ;D

Is that the Beetle vert you have had out there a while ?

I love that green cab you used to have with all the Porsche kit

Will be a long time from now, I'm doing the 80 stocker first. Have bought a lot of the parts already for the next type 4 tho.

I think a big turbo, low boost flat 4 combo is the way to go  >:D ;D 8)

Probably the best way to get decent bhp per litre out of one of those type 4's, The stock heads require alot of modification to  get decent power, or you could get some other heads such as Pauter or Remelle.

I will look forward to seeing it done

A bit of an update,
Been collecting parts for this one, as one does with aircooleds  :D
Got all my Porsche susp & brake bits now apart from the rear coilovers, the 993 T/Turbo calipers & discs arived last week.
I had a set of 02 Boxter rims 7's & 8.5's but didn't like the thought of widening the rear guards but as luck would have it I managed to swap the 8.5's with someone for some 7's so problem solved.
Quite a few of the engine parts are there so far, looks like it will be another type 4 engine 2700cc but turbo'd this time.
There's still an awfull lot needed but I'll start fitting all the susp/brakes/wheels in the next couple of months as I don't want to do a total stripdown just yet. Doing this in stages means I can keep the car together and driveable for now, besides the 80 vert is already in 1000's of pieces.

My old 79 convertible went under the knife this morning, been meaning to install all the parts I have been collecting for a few years so its up in the air now with the whole front end stripped out which took all of 30min  ;D Got to love simple cars!
New FK coilovers going in along with all new bushes, ball joints, tie rods, braided hoses, 944T master cylinder, 993 Turbo brakes and Boxter wheels.

Its a long term project so have the car up on stands/sawhorses so not to tie up the hoist. Will be doing bits and pieces here and there, front first and then strip the rear out.
Also have Porsche 915 5 speed box going in with 2.7L type 4 engine.
