We brought an Audi A1 "twin" for the wife from Continentals in Auckland which was supposed to come with two keys. So after much chasing a second key has just been couriered to us. We now need to get this programmed to the car, Armstrongs would like $45:00 for plugging in the diagnostic machine and 30 minutes labour. Without being a nana about the price, anyone know of anywhere else in Wellington which might be more cost effective or do I just roll with it? Cheers
Beveridge locksmiths do it, unsure about price, but you could compare the two.
Most definitely, will give them a call tomorrow, thanks for that - nice Golf R btw
$45 from the local audi agent is a no brainer.
Yep it appears that way - although it's $45:00 plus another half hour labour on top of that.
Oh, in that case get some more quotes.
If it was meant to come with two keys, get Continentals to pay for it.
It was only when I picked up the car from Continentals that they said the previous owner was dropping a second key down to the them. That can't have happened and after a couple of months of pushing they must have ordered a spare in. We had to email the top man to finally get this far so I can't see them springing for the programming cost from Armstrongs also. In saying that we can only but ask.

Archibalds in Chch will charge $110 + GST for coding
Does not include supply of the key, nor cutting, which you can get done elsewhere and in advance
