hey guys , my s4 is in stock 17?s but want to get bigger wheels , i had a look under the arches and there is a bar/arm above the wheels with not much clearance, does anyone know what this is and how to get bigger wheels in there? cheers
Mine is lowered on 18x8.5 ET35 with 235/40 tyres (RE003) and nothing rubs. When changing the wheels another thing to check is brake clearance as the caliper on the front of the S4 is relatively big. For example the stock wheels on my A4 do not clear the brakes on my S4.
This website is useful for seeing how things change with regards to poke, inset and rolling distance etc but will not help with brake clearance: http://www.willtheyfit.com (http://www.willtheyfit.com)]
Which S4 did you buy?
PS I wouldn't go larger than 19" personally. I think 18 is perfect but depends on what you want on the looks/handling/comfort spectrum.
Mine...
18x8.5 ET35, 235/40R18:

18x8 ET35, 225/40R18 (they just clear the front calliper by about 1mm):
