Title: Updating Navigation maps on a 2016 Passat

I was looking at updating the maps on my 2016 Passat and thought that the maps will be on a SD card in one of the slots but there doesn't appear to be any cards inserted in either slot. In the system setting \ remove safely \ select device the SD card 1 and 2 are grayed out.

So where are the maps stored?

I get GILTRAP to update when I get mine serviced.
I think they update off CDs.
