No one ever seems to talk about them. Is there love for C5 RS6's in NZ?
How many are are around in NZ? You don't seem to see many anymore.
Gearboxes have probably all turned to jelly ;D

I don't know, Maybe 50? I remember there are more than the 35 B5 RS4's.
Sorry to divert, but how many of those 35 RS4s still exist? Or at least still live in NZ?
I have much love for them... the gearbox is by far the biggest 'scary factor' though.
A manual conversion would be awesome.
what's in the c5 ?
i drove the latest c7 rs6 performance over the weekend and the 8-spd auto box was awesome.

I think someone has a database? I believe the vast majority are still registered in NZ.

I like them too. The other big issue is the DRC system which is great when it's working but moon beams to repair when in breaks. I've driven about 5 C5s at various times and I love the motor but the gearboxes on most of them were on the way out.

4.2 V8 biturbo, I drove one last year. I liked the b5 rs4 better simply because it was manual.
with zf 5-spd auto
thanks.
I love them, i'd own one if people didn't keep telling me not to! But, I love that era of audi....
One just went through Turners damaged vehicles this morning for about $6850.
Still rego'd but had some sort of light front end hit, plus listed as maybe having trans issue!
I want one to complete the RS original collection , but it's hard enough keeping these ones going! (let alone the RS6 which I know is riddled with probs!)

Weird that one sold on Monday gone for $6850, does that mean they pulled out of purchase?
Still listed as possible trans issues.

It does rather look as if the buyer may have got a bit over-excited in the heat of the moment
I only see "possible mechanical damage", not trans issues though?
It's pretty much a given though, isn't it!

Chrome doesn't display the more info button correctly, if you view in IE and click the button the "possible trans issue" comes up.
As you say though, pretty much going to be one the way out now if not later :)
I was tempted but it's got quiet a few hits around the body, not just the front bumper.

Silly me ... there is a "more" beneath "additional". Turners are just weird
Engine started on arrival
however, it is in a damaged auction and due to the length of time it has been in storage, it may not start when sold. Vehicle has water in radiator and oil in engine. It is suspected that there is mechanical damage to this vehicle. Vehicle has sustained front bumper damage. Interior is in average condition. A key is available.
Change of ownership must be completed prior to vehicle being collected
VIEWING: Due to Health and Safety requirements viewing is strictly 7.30am ? 9.00am day of auction only, unless prior arrangement with a minimum of 24hours notice.
Cosmetic damage.
Possible transmission issues.
There was a guide around the internet at some stage on the "how to manual swap" on these. 01E + custom flywheel + C5 manual donor parts + usual computer trickery. Sounds like a good candidate for something along those lines IMHO.

Yes but hellishly involved compared to an average manual conversion
