VW have told me i need to replace battery on my r32 and have quoted me over $500! Anyone suggestion a better deal!?
ok - $270 for the same battery at a battery place (Exide) Pays to shop around
the genuine battery will last twice as long as a exide though.
lasts twice as long at twice the price.
sounds fair.
;D
do they fit Bosch batteries at the dealer?
also I know my GTI needs 680CCA minimum which is a pretty big battery for a hatchback
but I guess the OEM ones do last long, the gti still has the OEM batery so 6 years in and no issues yet, still starts smoothly in the mornings
my 2005 gti's battery lasted until 2012.
7 good years.
:D

Our E39 BMW battery lasted a few days over 13 years :-)
I'd be surprised if the local NZ dealers were really selling real "genuine VW" ones though - more likely the same as you can buy locally, but with a VW sticker on it.
Mines the original battery so 9 yeas. the girl at VW said they have a 2 year shelf life ???
Autostop sells Bosch batteries, none of this NZ made crap.

they did quote me both genuine and Marshall battery back then when my battery was dead, so I assume they do sell genuine.
anyone find that the batt on the GTI dies quite often
Quick Google and found this website.

If this is true seems OK priced.
