Toying with the idea of V6 TDI 2nd gen Touareg for general family load lugging duties plus boat towing and odd bit of car towing duties.
Thinking older higher km's rather than younger, just wondering if any of you have ownership experiences to share good and bad?
We owned a 2006 Touareg 3.0 tdi a few years back. Bought at 100k km, sold
At 150k km. Great car for family, great tow car ! (ours had air suspension).
We had a few mechanical issues but nothing the insurance warranty Didnt cover.
Last year we bought a 2009 3.0 tdi (air suspension a must) as a hack tow car (shared ownership).
Again it?s been a good car. Like prior the odd
Mechanical issue, so keep them under warranty.
Most gen2 (2011>) don?t have air suspension, so look hard for one that does if towing is a focus.
Thanks, what?s the advantage of air suspension? I thought a lot of people say to avoid.

Keeps it level under load, big plus for towing
Yes the airbags can fail, but if under warranty who cares.
Between me and the old now we?ve had 5x Audi/q7/vw with airbags , zero issues

I have a 2011 Touareg, 200ks on the clock.
Its a 150 kW version but still easily tows my 2.5 tonne extreme boat. No air suspension, but rides nicely.
Been fairly reliable, although the EGR valve is currently blocked.
Great vehicle.

We?ve just bought a 2015 Touareg V6 Tdi.
So seats are amazingly comfortable, best I can recall.
Slightly off topic, but anyway, does anyone know where I can get a bonnet protector for it?
