Title: Auxiliary power sockets
Post by: tusk on February 23, 2018, 02:14:33 PM
Bought a phone charger and doesn't look like either 12v socket works in my golf. Will check the fuse (f42?) when I get home. Any common issues with these sockets? Incompatibilities?

Yes have check charger in another car and it works there...

Correct - ignition must be on. Fuse 42 was blown so simple fix.

seems unique to 2005 and early 2006. Everything else should be switched on via ignition. I can see pros and cons with both setups. I'd like the socket in the amarok tray to be always on as I use this for electric air compressors for bikes and camp mattresses, but I like the chargers,GPS etc in the cab to switch off when I remove the keys.
