Title: Bolts
Post by: Audi do on April 29, 2020, 09:59:54 AM
1986 Audi coupe quattro
Am needing the engine (KG turbo engine) to gearbox bolts and front sub frame bolts.
Does anybody have any spare you no longer need?.
What size are they ie length, pitch etc?.
Would I be better off going into a bolt shop and getting what I need?.

On another matter, I intend fitting the engine into a non turbo engine room, I need to move the brake booster to the left side of the engine room.
The battery tray needs to be removed and the battery will go in the boot.
How on the ur quattro's is this done?, is there linkages I need to purchase?, have searched online but not having a lot of luck.
Cheers.

you need the pedal linkage out of a left hand drive car, and a turbo coupe airbox will be a help too. not sure about the bolts.these guys are good for bolts and that...

In a RHD UR quattro there is a cross shaft from the pedal to the left side brake booster.

sorry that last lot of numbers is blurry.... it looks like 812721115A the other number is clearer and I am guessing that this is a B3 piece as it has B3 stamped on it and the other number starts with an 89......hope this helps? you can see the linkage goes left to where the MC will have to be if you convert to turbo.....

Thanks heaps for the pictures, this goes a long way to what I will need. I am thinking though to make an exhaust manifold, just need to find some steam pipe.

it gets damnen hot, make sure you get a steel gasket too, anything else won't be up to it. and making one may be harder than you think. maybe try and find a proper one? they are kinda slim on the ground round here though. can take some pics of one if you want?. let me know if you get stuck, I might be able to help. the GT ones are different. the quattro ones are model specific

Leave the brakes where they are and make a new exhaust manifold, the standard one is a piece of crap

That is what I am fixing to do, I suspect getting the car certified/revinned will be easier as well doing that.
