Title: Help: where does the relay live for rear doors window winding?
Post by: 1oldAudi on December 21, 2005, 04:37:15 PM
Rear left has become internitent and won't wind up once wound down (open). Ok with down volts feed and there's a good earth. Have measured low volts so probably the relay not connected into circuit probably. Window opens but can't close (due to low volts) with its own swich or driver's position one.... Thanks

The relay is under the steering wheel and is the big yellow one. They often get dry solder joints and you pop them open and resolder them. however i think you will find it is just the window switches as if the relay goes all the windows stop working. You remove the door switch pop it open and with a very small file (not sandpaper) file up the points, do both the drivers door switch and the door one. The wires also end up breaking just inside the foot well at the drivers door ......took me quite a whilke to find that one out ................in fact my auto electrition did it for me :P Good luck
