happy new year all, I have a question. a mate bought a new car second hand from somewhere, and was driving home from ak to welly and has broken down in the Wanganui area. she has said the symptoms are shudders at 2000rpm and a loss of power. from what little info I have it kinda sounds spark related..... what would you guys venture could be the problem? cheers
Auto or manual? If its auto it could be gearbox related also which would be an expensive fix so lets hope not. I would guess that if it was spark related there would be a constant misfire from idle all the way up the RPM range. If someone close by has a VAG COM scanner to read the fault codes that'll pin point the fault without guessing. :)
