Just towed the trailer with the Touareg for the first time, and the trailers LED brake/Blinker blights are flashing instead of staying on.
A quick google shows the LED's have too little resistance.
Apparently there are some resistor sandwich plates you can use.
Anyone know who sells these in NZ? Especially on new years day?
super cheap sell a plug in set of trailer lights on a board you can attach to the trailer
Have a look at these

But instead of it being hard wired to teh trailer, we're gonne set it up with a male/female connector, so i can move it from trailer to trailer as needed.
Fingers crossed that it works.
Got this made up today. They are suppose to be fixed mounted to the trailer, but i had it made up with male/female connections so i can interchange it between trailers or cars (Old mans Cayenne, suspected same issue).
Seems to work well.
Not only does it fix the blinking lights, but allows the other functions such as adjusted ESP, and tailer removal alarm etc.

Ace Auto Sparkys in Albany did the job, and the part was supplied by http://www.anythingelectronic.co.nz/
