Title: Replaced Golf mk6 stereo and triggered airbag light, Help!
Post by: Sidbajaj on September 17, 2018, 07:12:25 PM
Hi Guys, this is my first post here, needed some help from you VW Guru?s. I installed a RCD330G. The mechless version. While I did that I removed the passenger airbag warning light to remove some cables from the old stereo tapped into the Climatronic. I made the mistake of switching on the ignition to test without reconnecting the light.

Now the car is giving me a airbag warning light... pretty silly thing to do, I know!

Is there any way to maybe unplug the battery or something and clear the light, or do I have to go to a VW dealer and shell out mega bucks for a vagcom?

Anyone with a vagcom that can help in central auckland. I?ll come to you and bring a six pack to show my appreciation! :)

Not an expert but disconnecting the battery for some period of time should reset the code

I can do it for you if you're willing to travel Botany.
You may find someone closer though if you want to wait.

I'm based on the shore if you'd like to swing past. Can certainly assist.

Thanks for the offer of assistance, I managed to find someone with a cable who reset the light for me!

Next project... get the reverse camera installed...

Unplugging the battery doesn?t reset this light. Tried it overnight and it didn?t work for me.  :(
