Morning,
Am looking at possibly purchasing either the 2.7 Diesel model. Anything I should be looking out for?
Have never owned an Audi, wanting to upgrade from a Golf Mk 4 (second child on the way, need some more space!).
Thanks :)
(Sorry, think this might be in wrong forum? Can someone move it? Thx!)
air bag suspension can be a problem if not maintained, otherwise fairly bulletproof

They didnt make a 2.7 diesel, they made a 2.5 diesel, the 2.7 is a twin turbo petrol v6, the 2.5tdi is known to eat its camshafts, reason being the service intervals were too long, there is also the option of a 4.2 v8, the v8 would be my pick, most reliable and the difference in economy between it and the 2.7 is minimal. The air suspension also gives problems, air bags fail and so do the compressors, they are expensive to replace and if you are not going off road it can just be replaced with standard a6 suspension
There's a bespoke replacement airbag kit from Arnotts that gets good reviews - https://www.arnottindustries.com/part_AUDI_yid17.html
I checked these guys out when I had a hankering for a four ringed tow car/get round the rocks at Shippies wagon
If you are not going off road why pay more for an allroad when you could have an a6 avant for less and avoid the airbags
I think Allroads have a higher tow rating, 2100kg.
The ladys carrying a baby even a mk4 golf is a big car....
Im guessing she likes the look of the Allroad which is very understandable.
