Here's a sneak peak at what just came back freshly refurbished by Lance and the great team at Arrow. ;D

i've already done the "wheel" joke, so count yourself lucky. ;D
The wheels are some weird Japanese brand "NKB Power" (at least that's what is says on the centre caps but who knows if they are the original ones?). Fronts are 15x7 ET+35 and rears are 15x8 ET+35 - those are the rears in the pics. They were originally polished with red inserts in the little holes. Had them powder coated black, lips machined and then powdercoated clear over the top by Arrow.
Tyres are 195/50/15s. Would have preferred 45s but they're hard to get and the extra sidewall is quite handy as it rides pretty hard as it is. It fills the arches a bit better while at the same time giving a few extra mm ground clearance.
We got them on the car today. Rears run with a 8mm spacer to clear the caliper and interestingly enough it's the fronts that rub (just slightly if you go over a bump with some lock on)
Options are:
- Get to a narrower tyre like a 185
- Try and find some 195/45s
- Raise the front slightly.
Even though raising suspension goes fundamentally against the grain I'll start with this option as it's the easiest.
It's amazing how small the wheels look on the car once they're on - I'll take some decent pics tomorrow but it really looks much better in the flesh.
Apologies - not the most decent pics in the end but here's a couple with wheels on the car :) Need a decent snapper like phil to take some proper shots as I've got no skills behind the camera. :D

Phil that Lupo is looking HOT ! :o 8) 8)
What's happening with the old Schmidt wheels?
Tentatively spoken for I'm afraid as are the tyres (195/40/16 Pirelli's). If anything changes I'll let you know.
Specs on the Schmidts are 16x7.5 +35.
nice, but I think I like the wheels in your original post better
all up a tidy little car, will be interesting to see the unseemly inter-VASK scrambling when your girlfriend gets tired of it and decides to sell
Looks great in the flesh - saw it on the Northern Motorway the other night...
Fantastic.
Thanks guys - looking forward getting it out and about on a few VASK events. :)
yeah saw you the other day too :-) lookin mint!
nice :P
Saw a mx5 the other day with the same wheels
Were they fully polished?
There's a few sets around - I spotted a yellow new Beetle in Rotorua just this Monday morning with 17" versions.
The lip was and the inside painted red. looked quite smart on the mx5, they were 15"

Didn't see the plate but did have a whale tail. You obviously know the car mate? :)
yea see it daily
very nice Lupo! Last years topic i know, but I just saw this topic as ive always loved the Lupos. You can do simple mods to them and it goes a long way.
Phil / Filx, mate thats an awesome example you have, love the 8" wide at the back with subtle stretch and the tints in the rear windows only - nice touch.
Shame you can never get hold of em over here! I wouldnt mind owning one myself as a daily, great bit of fun to drive especialy in GTi form.
Omar.
Thanks Omar - it is a great fun car - I still get a real buzz out of driving it on the odd times I can prize the keys away from my wife.
The wheels have been on for about a year now so time for a change up soon I think ;)

The look a rare find Phil, what are they?
They're made by Arrow Wheels. That pic is a mash up of a few bits I've had sitting around for a while. I need to bolt them together properly and do a test fit as I'm not too sure if they'll even work, or look any good. That flat face and square spoke design might look better on a Mk1 or Mk2 Golf. :-\
They look bitchin.
Nice mate. Classic looking spokes and a nice dish to boot!
They look very nice 8) What colour are you going to do them?
And the "rears" 15x9, was to scared to work out the ET, probably around +10. Might be a just a little mad for the Lupo . Would be a better fit for something like an E30 Beemer. I'll test fit for a laugh if it ever stops raining though.

Not sure yet. Possibly satin black face on the centres with polished on the "sides" of the spokes. Then polished lips and black bolts. All that's a while away though.
They would look awesome on a Mk2
if they dont fit let me know i know i might know a bmw thatll look wicked on these!
They would look mint on my mk1 jetta 8)

They come in a variety of sizes and are 3 piece so can be built to suit a lot of applications. They look especially good (IMO) on boxy '80s cars, but they suit early 911s really well as well.
I think the ATS probably just have Gotti caps on them in that case as I don't think they did an ATS Cup style wheel.

those gotti's are my new favorite wheels!
They look mint bro!! The bolts look like they came out really really well too. Too nice to put on a filthy road!!
those x13's are sickness 8)
Hahhahaa, thanks boys - actually that's just a test assembly with the 2.5" lips. Look freakin hot in the flesh - man jewelery!!!
Unfortunately I've got 2x mint centres but the other two are slightly discoloured so will need powder coating - i was hoping they'd all scrub up nice so I could just use the OEM silver finish. I also probably went a fraction too aggressive on the offsets for the Lupo while it is on DD duties.
So yeah, might flick them on - just not sure if I should powder coat and assemble, or sell them as parts so a buyer can choose to refinish them to their own taste? :-\
To many wheels and to much dish, life is tough .... :P
This is disappointing, when I saw "updated" I expected to see pics of the car with new wheels ;D
Whats the hold up? :P

I like these better than the previous. What's the model and size?
Similar to what I'm running on the misses punto but with a bit more dish making the more cool 8)
Are these the ones of TM about a month ago, if so we were probably bidding against each other
They're 15x8 RH Cuprads I brought in last year. They're spacer centric (i.e. designed to run spacers/adapters as a lot of RH rims are), however I didn't know that until they arrived and they weren't sold with adapters so I had some made in 16mm, 20mm and 25mm.
The native offset is ET45 and I'm currently running the 16mm spacers at the front and 20mm at the rear. If I ever get around to rolling the guards I'll change to the 25mm at the rear and lower the car a bit more. But It will probably have to be retired from daily duties before it goes too much lower.
Just needs an alignment and a bit of camber at the front and it should be set to go! (Plus the car needs a damn good clean)
BAD
I think I almost snapped my neck trying to have a look at this driving through Glenfield last night?
Edit; Snapped a quick photo at the nats, walked passed it parked up

A couple of blurry instagrams from this arvo - she's now on 15x8 Work Nezarts, ET25 with 10mm rear spacer and 185/45s.
I'm still working on ride height however I can't go much lower without fouling the driveshafts on the chassis rails. Might drop a few more mm out of the rear and call it a day.
Nice! :)
It looked tough sitting on the street today, makes me want one!
Good stuff.
I love this little car!
Agreed, the Lupo is a fat little vehicle... had a good look over it today, its bloody nice imo.

Makes it look all grown up mate.
They set the car off well though good choice 8)
very TSW Venom but all wheel manufactureres followed what ever trend was current so they all have similar designs
Sold the Work Nezarts and fitted some loaner ATS Type 5s while I ponder what next. Funny as stance as I had to run a 10mm spacer at the front to clear the calipers. I'm leading the charge on a new front poke, rear tuck trend - I think it'll catch on soon.

Meh, the hard part isn't convincing your wife to get one, it's finding one.
My wife has a regular 1.4 Lupo which she likes, but she'd drop it like a bad habit for a GTI.
