and a grin as wide as a mile after a wheel alignment by Pete at Marshalls in Newmarket. He particularly appreciated how clean everything is under there now.
I've been using a diesel '95 Toyota Caldina commuting up and down the Western motorway for the last 6 yrs and this old '89 100 is sooo much a nicer drive. So quiet.
The work i've done myself:
- new KYBs all round
- new outer CVs
- new bushes all through front suspension (some imported ex USA)
- new driver's window winder mech (USA OEM imported part)
- all vacuum central locking overhauled/repaired
- replaced headlights (reflector silvering had failed)
- overhauled transaxle with a Pick-A-Part diff
- torque convertor reco'd (by transmission business)
- repairs to dash, conversion to red LED backlighting and tacho fixed.
- backlight replaced on the shift lever with red LED
- replacement steering rack boot
- general engine tuneup/maintenance
- cambelt replaced (made my own lock-engine tool for the job).
Ian at Marshalls Alignment said its one of the nicest old 'trucks' he's seen for a while...
Now the big decision, keep it and enjoy some German engineering or find a new lucky owner.
You might see me on the Western motorway sometime.

Very jealous to see a car like yours treated in a way mine should be. Great job.
"He particularly appreciated how clean everything is under there now." Guess the KU wont be going in. See you on the nor wester.
V nice, keep it, as you will cry at the fact no one will pay you anything for it.
