Check the throttle body boot. Probably torn

Only happens when you get into boost in say 4th and 5th fear and you put your foot down halfway or so, as it builds up the car starts almost boost cutting, but if you just plant your foot it gets into boost fine. Has anyone has this happen to them? Cheers

I did a bit more playing with the sub tonight. I looked into doing a fibreglass enclosure but I really don't want to get into that much mess, fumes and time! So:
Step one - make a CAD template (Cardboard Aided Design, thanks Project Binky!)

Step 2, cut a piece of leftover MDF to shape.

Step 3, make a hole in the spare trim piece.

Step 4 - test fit the sub. It fits well, plenty of room.

I'm planning to keep it simple, bolt the MDF to the bodywork, fit the trim over the top then screw the sub in place.
See what it sounds like! If it's not right it'll be plan B
Next step after that is to get some thin ply and use it to strengthen the trim, then find some vinyl and leather to try and match the existing stuff.

just FYI too... Dad had his E30 for about 18 years, I installed the lite-skinz just after he got it and I peeled them off when I put it up for sale for him - they were a bit pitted, and grubby around the edges, but it was him and mums only cars for a fair few of the years they had it. They lasted well.

They're still on it this pic - you can just see the grubby marks around the edge when a small amount of the backing was exposed (zoom!) - they do give the lights a slight grey tinge which looked nice:

(Really though... this forum just needs more pics, and i loved his car! )
