Hey team,

I own a New Zealand new B6 Audi A4 1.8TQ. I have noticed that my CEL doesn't show in accessory mode. I have also noticed that looking on trademe that essentially every Audi of the same age as mine that is New Zealand new also doesn't show the CEL in accessory mode. I have taken out my cluster to have a look at if any tampering has been done to hide the CEL (electrical tape or LED removal) and found nothing. I posted on Audizine here but haven't had much luck finding anything. My mate also owned a different NZ new B6 and had the same thing with no CEL. Here are some other NZ new Audis that don't have any CELs in accessory mode + an 8P a3 that does have one. This is the only car from this era that shows one. All imports are normal and show a CEL.







Does anyone know if Audi NZ decided to simply spec cars like this? It seems odd that almost all of the NZ new cars that I can find are like this. I do plan on eventually using VAG-COM to properly test my CEL, but I'm also tempted to go to the dealership to ask if they know if I can't get an answer here or on Audizine. Eventually more modern Audis became normal and all show a CEL in accessory mode.

So just seeing if anyone here knows anything about this.

due to engine not running and ECU not completing the start up routine? you wont have a CEL on dash. You will have CEL stored in the ECU or other modules etc.
