I have just purchased a C5 RS6 and am keen to go down the manual gearbox route.

I need a few parts as you can imagine and I'm currently building a parts list. If anyone has any parts which will be going to a good cause please get in touch.

Hello, it's been a while!

Have been buying parts and doing homework this last year and am finally getting stuck in.

I purchased a kit from Audis4parts who supply all the conversion items for a manual conversion so I purchased a kit for a 2.7T A6. The kits comes with all the items and I chose to get the gearbox rebuilt with the JHM kit.

The items that didn't come with it are the adapter plate, clutch, flywheel and starter. I chose to use Stephen Kendrish for this as he has designed a kit. It's not cheap but it looked well put together from my point of view.

Will keep this going on from now onwards so hopefully it's entertaining.

Well, a twist in the plot has surprised us... We have found the left front driveshaft is broken at the CV Joint. Now we are wondering if the gearbox is actually fine and this was the issue the whole time...

So, what was the outcome of this finding? Did you replace it or is the manual swap going ahead?

Hi,

Have been driving the car for a while now after replacing the driveshaft. Still going through with the conversion. Just in a busy patch at the moment and the wagon has proven to be a good size for a daily with 2 young kids in many sports. The A6 platform is nicely sized.

Have been acquiring more parts for the car since.

Will post more information once the swap starts again.
