Help! Recurring engine fault light in 07 Skoda Octavia RS 2.0 TDi

Hi All,
Ive recently had a very expensive problem with engine fault light coming on.

One of these times, engine stopped dead on the motorway and needed a tow. Workshop diagnosed it as faulty wiring loom and 4 faulty injectors. After having these replaced ($$$) and car off the road for a couple of weeks, I thought all was now fixed, but alas yesterday the fault light came on again. The car didnt stop but it did go into limp mode.

As far as the car goes I love it, but these problems with the fault light coming and going into limp mode on is really starting to worry me (and piss me off >:( ).

Has anybody experienced anything similar or know of common faults with this type of engine or where I can get good information? The workshop is not being helpful!

hi, i can probably tell you what it is, but do you know what the fault code was?
They have a wiring fault from the boost control solenoid to the ecu, and they had no technical service bulletin til i found the info after about 20 hours of looking.
Basically was going into limp mode , occasionally if you tuned it on and off enough it would drive ok til the next time you started it.
Issue is that its shared motor etc with the golf as well and the problem was documented in VW because of the volume of faults, whereas skoda didnt see enough to warrant the service bulletin.
If you are out of warranty i would complain (if it is this fault) wiring loom is $85 retail and takes a couple of hours to fit.

Being as how your car is 3 years old is it still within warranty?

Our RS  had the same problem after I broke an engine mount in it (luckily under warranty) and it took GT Continental 3 or 4 tries and a number of months to get it sorted, ended up being a sensor in the exhaust or something I think. Funny how Europe's most reliable car isn't so good in NZ :-\
