Does anyone have experience with Valvoline DCT fluid in their DSG transmission? I see it meets several VW standards (G 052 182, G 052 529, and TL 521 82) and costs less than the alternatives I've seen.

I have a 2011 Golf Variant 2.0T w/six-speed DSG (02E), so I think G 052 182 is what I'm looking for.

Well, the few reviews I could find showed people were satisfied with it, so I went ahead and ordered it.

If you want a deal, it's $72.79 plus shipping right now for a 5l container.

The Wellington dealer wanted $116 for a 1l container of the VW-branded fluid.

Even though the OEM DSG fluid manufacturer is approximately 2-3% cheaper, it is still very dear.
Cannot explain why, but most DSG gearboxes run much smoother and quieter with genuine OEM fluid compared to alternatives.

I'm currently running Liqui Moly 8100 DSG fluid in my high-hp mk6R with racing clutches and LSD. The gearbox did odd things occasionally. But since it's done it a handful of times in 65,000 km. I switched to OEM fluid, only 6000kms in so far, and no issues or quirks experienced to date.

the valvoline does comply with DSG standards as per the document, so technically it should work. Personally never tried it, so unable to provide any feedback.

Interesting feedback on the LiquiMoly Hennie. I was going to grab some for my MK5. Maybe not now.

Might also explain the behaviour of my tranny. The previous owner has the DSG 'serviced' prior to selling. There was a Valvoline sticker in the engine bay.I've done just over 90k since I bought it 5 years ago. Always iffy when hot, the last 20k have been a bit worse.

We have been running Motul Multi dctf in our workshop for the best part of 10 years and we have never had any issues. Might be worth a try.
